Educational Visits are generally arranged through Winchester’s Military Museums, where schools visit the various Military Museums based at Peninsula Barracks, Winchester. More information is available here. We cover KS1 – KS4 level.
Sessions include WW1, WW2, Local History, The Boer War 1899-1902, Terrorism, Medicine and many more, including STEM topics and the Art Award.
For local studies we can assist schools with detailed information about soldiers from different parts of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, from the First and Second World Wars but also in some cases other conflicts too.
If you are researching for a dissertation and wish to draw on the experiences of soldiers from Hampshire then we will have information which can almost certainly assist you with your studies. We also have artefacts and archives that can be used for studies.
School Visits are facilitated through Winchester’s Military Museums, a collection of six military museums based at Peninsula Barracks, Winchester. For more information or to book please click here or email education@winchestersmilitaryquarter.org
