This is a collection of tales and reflections to give a flavour, a snapshot, of life in the Royal Hampshire regiment from 1962 to its amalgamation in 1992. This is not an ‘authorised’ account pf the Regiment. This is the voice of the Hampshire soldier as the Regiment negotiated its last decades of service. It reflects an environment of camaraderie and good humour but it also tells of darker moments and discomfort. It is not a traditional regimental treatise in which success follows success but ra5ther it is an attempt to reflect the reality of life in the Queen’s uniform.
