The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Military Aid Fund is here for the relief of former members of the British Army (whether regular, territorial, militia, yeomanry or volunteer) and their dependents who are in need, hardship or distress, and who were:
All applications and requests for assistance, should be made in the first instance to either your local SSAFA or Royal British Legion (RBL) branch, who will then forward the application on to us here in Serle’s House. In no circumstances will we make grants directly to an individual, only via SSAFA or the RBL. All requests for support will be considered and the only judgement that is made is the amount of need of the individual, we do not consider how someone got into the situation. Where necessary, we will ask the Soldiers’ Charity (The Army Benevolence Fund) to assist depending on the size of the grant required.
